Interior design for the Belgrade office of Vast, located in Dom Sindikata, a building constructed in the mid-20th century and proclaimed a national cultural monument. The project approach was based on preserving the original spirit and architectural character of the building, while adapting the space to the needs of a contemporary IT company, within a limited budget.
The design respects the historical and cultural value of Dom Sindikata, an iconic example of post-war architecture influenced by Socialist realism and late modernism. Instead of introducing dominant new elements, the interior relies on reuse and restoration. Period furniture was carefully selected, with restored Lupina chairs designed by Niko Kralj incorporated into the workspace, reinforcing the connection to the building’s era. The result is an office that balances heritage and contemporary use, allowing the original character of the space to remain present while supporting modern work requirements.
